Before using a cam indexer, certain procedures must be followed. Regular lubrication is crucial. Before lubricating, clean the oil port and then inject clean oil. This is because iron filings, oil residue, and dust can accidentally enter, causing wear and tear on the cam, roller, and bearing components, reducing the cam indexer's precision, negatively impacting the machine and production efficiency. After a certain operating time, change the oil regularly. Typically, the first oil change is after 1000 hours of operation. A second oil change is recommended after 3000 hours since the last change. Even with short operating times, change the oil annually.
During daily operation, regularly clean debris and scraps around the cam indexer's transmission system to prevent blockages. If abnormal vibrations, unusual noises, reverse impact in the cam's stationary zone, unstable or absent indexing output at certain positions, or complete lack of indexing output are observed, stop operation immediately. Disassemble the mechanism, open the rear cover, identify the cause, and then resume operation. Regularly inspect the cam indexer's connections and transmission components between the input and output shafts. If the cam is damaged and unusable, contact for a replacement. Undamaged or slightly damaged cams can be reused; do not adjust their axial position. During operation, check for looseness in couplings, pulleys, sprockets, gears, and output transmission components. Ensure proper tension of belts and chains, and correct meshing clearance of gears. There are two ways to remove the output shaft: 1. Loosen the output sleeve and remove the output shaft without loosening the rear end cap to maintain the axial position during reinstallation. 2. Loosen the output shaft's rear locking nut and front output sleeve to remove the shaft and sleeve together. During reinstallation, simply tighten the nut to return the output shaft to its original position.
