Why must cam indexers use bearing steel? Bearing steel has strict refining methods, considering oxygen content, annealing hardness, fracture, residual elements, and spark testing, as well as the delivery condition and identification of bearing steel. Today, we introduce the characteristics of steel rolling bearings:
1. High contact fatigue strength. Under long-term load, the contact surface of bearings is prone to fatigue damage, cracking, and spalling, which are the main causes of bearing failure. Therefore, to improve the service life of bearings, bearing steel needs to have high contact fatigue strength.
2. Wear resistance. During bearing operation, the sleeve and rolling elements experience not only rolling friction but also sliding friction, causing continuous wear of bearing components. Bearing steel has good wear resistance to reduce wear on bearing components, maintain accuracy and stability, and extend the service life of bearing components.
3. Hardness is an important quality of bearings. It directly affects the contact fatigue strength, wear resistance, and elasticity of the cam indexer. To achieve higher contact fatigue strength and wear resistance, the hardness of bearing steel generally reaches a very high level.
4. Rust prevention. To prevent corrosion of bearing parts and finished products during processing, storage, and use, bearing steel requires good rust prevention properties.
5. Machinability. After heat treatment, bearing steel exhibits good machinability during production to meet the requirements of high volume, efficiency, and quality. For example, cold forming, performance, processing, and quenching.

End of Heat | Summer not yet felt over, the time has come for new autumn
Chushu is the fourteenth solar term in the "Twenty-Four Solar Terms" and the second solar term of autumn. In the "Monthly Commands · Compilation of Seventy-Two Phenomena," it is said: "Chu means stop; the heat stops here." Chushu is neither as dynamic as Grain Rain or White Dew, nor as distinct as the Beginning of Spring or Beginning of Summer. Just like the traditional character for "Chu" (處), which contains the component "処 (chǔ)", meaning "to walk slowly." To truly appreciate the unique beauty of Chushu, one must slow down and savor it carefully.
Starting today, we enter the last phase of the hottest period known as the "Final Dog Days." This signifies the transition from summer to autumn, with the heat gradually cooling down. As we enter the Final Dog Days, the intense heat is nearing its end, and everyone's main concern is whether the weather will also become cooler accordingly.
On August 7th, the Beginning of Autumn solar term arrives! The gaps between fingers are too wide, time is too thin. Although it may still be hot in many places for a while, the prelude to the "poetic autumn" has already begun. In a daze, one can't help but sigh: time really flies. In early autumn, the wind is a gentle breeze, the scenery is bright, the time is frosty, and the trees are sparse. It is suitable for climbing heights, watching the sea, and gazing into the distance. May you feel comfortable and peaceful, and live your days vividly through the changing solar terms.
