During indexing, the cam indexer works by using the input cam to drive the output turret in continuous or intermittent motion. The cam curve and the needle roller bearing perform linear motion and surface contact.
The misalignment of the indexer's indexing position is primarily due to two factors: Firstly, adjustments can be made by modifying the distance between the input and output shafts. Secondly, displacement in the sensing system causes signal delays. Prolonged operation and vibration of the housing can loosen fixing screws, causing misalignment of the sensing cam, and leading to deviation or displacement of the power-off sensing point. This issue can be resolved by checking the entire sensing system's position and recalibrating the power-off sensing point to its stationary position.
The second factor is that during indexing, if the output end encounters a reverse impact, the impact force can cause clearance or wear in the internal needle roller bearings, directly affecting the offset of the reference point.
The third factor is damage to the cam curve caused by reverse impact. Compared to needle roller bearing damage, a greater impact force is needed to damage the cam, resulting in more severe consequences. In this case, the solution is to send it to the factory for repair. Reverse impact during operation is an unavoidable human factor and is not covered under warranty, even within the warranty period. Although our company provides lifetime maintenance, additional charges apply for parts replacement. Compared to buying a new unit, this can still save some costs.
