Precautions for using a cam indexer: Three important points to remember and one absolute no-no
When using a cam indexer, there is one absolute no-no and three important points to remember. Following these points will significantly extend the service life of the cam indexer.
Absolute no-no for cam indexers: Collisions
During operation, it is forbidden for foreign objects to get stuck in the turntable or for sudden external forces to act on the disc. This will increase the force between the internal cam and the needle roller bearing, leading to damage of the cam indexer. This must be strictly avoided during use.
Precautions for using a cam indexer:
1. Inspection: After receiving the goods, please conduct a power-on test within three working days and check the completeness of the accessories according to the packing list. If there are any abnormalities, please provide feedback in time to avoid delays in use;
2. Debugging: Before normal use, it is recommended to run the machine without load first and evaluate various indicators of the indexer, such as: number of stations, stroke angle, density, and adjustment of the stationary position, etc.;
3. Assembly: After the no-load debugging shows no abnormalities, assemble according to customer requirements, run under load, and be sure to replace the "vent cap" before normal use;
4. Maintenance: The maintenance of the cam indexer mainly involves changing the lubricating oil. Normally, it is sufficient to change the lubricating oil once a year. When changing the lubricating oil, be sure not to let any impurities fall into the indexer;
5. Always clean up debris and scraps around the transmission system to prevent them from getting stuck in the disc and causing damage to the inside of the cam indexer;
6. Regularly inspect the connections and transmission components of the input and output shafts. Pay attention to the looseness of the couplings, pulleys, sprockets, gears, and output transmission components, and ensure that the tension of the belts and chains and the meshing clearance of the gears are within the normal range. If the following situations are found, stop operation immediately.
① Abnormal vibration. ② Abnormal noise. ③ Reverse impact in the cam rest area. ④ No indexing output in the corresponding number of intervals, unstable indexing output at a certain position, or no indexing output at all. If any abnormality occurs, please contact us immediately to avoid adverse effects. The cam indexer is a precision component and is strictly prohibited from being disassembled without authorization. Unauthorized disassembly without consent will void the after-sales service.
