Indexers are widely used. What are the main categories of cam indexers?
1. Lifting and Swinging Cam Indexer (DH): It can swing left and right and clamp up and down, providing multi-variable process functions for automated systems.
2. Flange Type (DF): The output shaft is a flange. Suitable for heavy-duty rotary table fixing and various disc processing machinery.
3. Spindle Type (DS): The output shaft is a spindle, suitable for intermittent conveying belts and power sources for gear meshing mechanisms.
4. Platform Table Type Cam Indexer (DT): It can withstand large loads and vertical radial pressure. There is a raised fixed plate and a large diameter hollow shaft at the end of its output shaft, better meeting the customer's requirements for intermediate stillness.
5. Ultra-thin Platform Table Type (DA): Similar to the platform table type, suitable for conditions where the load is large but the volume is limited.
6. Flat Conjugate Type (PU): Contains two plate-type cams and a roller turret output shaft, suitable for conveyor belt transmission or intermittent indexing.

Cam indexers, also known as cam indexers or intermittent indexers in engineering. It is a high-precision rotary device, and under the current requirements of automation, cam indexers are particularly important.
The indexing cam installed in the input shaft is connected to the output turret, and the cam rollers radially embedded in the circumference of the output turret are in linear contact with the tapered support ribs of the cam on their respective slopes.
When the input shaft rotates, the cam indexer cam rollers rotate the output turret according to the given displacement curve, while rolling along the slope of the rib. In the area where the rib and the cam end face are balanced, that is, in the static range, the roller is connected to its shaft, but the output turret itself does not rotate. The tapered support ribs usually contact two or three cam rollers so that the rotation of the input shaft can be evenly transmitted to the output shaft.
If there is a lack of smoothness between the cam surface of the tapered support rib and the cam roller, the indexer will be damaged. The phenomenon of rotational unsmoothness can be eliminated by adjusting the distance between the shafts. The cam roller and the cam can be brought closer to the elastic zone by adjusting the preload, thereby strengthening the rigidity of the indexer. Its structure and function are the combination of indexing cam and cam roller, which can perform high-speed operation.
Generally, the input shaft of the cam indexer forms an axial input key connection structure. During the transmission process, due to the instability of various factors and the pulsation of the driving load, the key connection is easily loosened, and a clearance is generated in the mating. This makes the input shaft movement discontinuous and produces impact. This not only easily damages the connecting parts but also the internal cam and roller needle bearings. Therefore, careful adjustment is required during connection, and frequent checks are required during use.
