Cam indexers, also known as intermittent indexers. The cam indexer of the edge banding machine is an organization that completes intermittent exercise, with the characteristics of high-precision measurement range, stable operation, large transmission torque, locking during precise positioning, compact structure, small size, low noise, good high-speed performance, and long life.
Cam indexers have many significant advantages, such as large transmission torque, compact structure, and small size. Therefore, it has relevant applications in many fields. Cam indexers are mainly used to replace traditional mechanisms, such as pneumatic control motors and incomplete gear mechanisms. Areas where cam indexers are used more include pharmaceutical machinery, food packaging machinery, glass machinery, and ceramic machinery, etc. These automated machines act as tools to convert continuous operation into step-by-step actions.
Relying on the rotation of its own spatial cam, this mechanism can realize intermittent transmission in the circumferential direction of the intermittent transmission line in various automatic machinery and in functions such as swing-driven manipulators. A very small indexer contains an input shaft, an output shaft, and a cam pair driven by a motor; the turntable is usually mounted on the output shaft. While widely used, we also want to keep in mind various automated machinery with cam indexers during use.
Adjustment of the edge banding machine cam indexer:
A major factor affecting the indexing accuracy and service life of the edge banding machine cam indexer depends on the adjustment. The edge banding machine cam indexer is a factory-made mechanical component, obtained through careful assembly and adjustment.
Improper adjustment will affect the indexing accuracy, causing impact and noise, and damaging the cam indexer, failing to reach the expected speed ratio and bearing capacity. This will reduce the service life of the cam indexer.
1. Adjustment of the axial distance of the edge banding machine cam indexer:
If the edge banding machine cam indexer has gaps in the precise positioning area due to long-term use and wear, then this gap should be eliminated by adjusting the axial distance. This can be done by synchronously adjusting the stop rings on both sides of the input shaft.
2. Adjustment of the input and output shaft radial position of the edge banding machine cam indexer:
The radial position of the cam indexer can be adjusted by adjusting the lock nuts on both sides of the camshaft of the edge banding machine cam indexer or the rolling bearing caps on both sides of the input shaft. It is possible to adjust the radial position of the indexing wheel by adjusting the rolling bearing caps or the rear lock nuts on both sides of the output shaft.
